Winter Park and Ascent: Growing Together

By November 4, 2015 No Comments

winter-park-residentialLike much of Colorado, Winter Park is growing at unprecedented rates. According to City-Data.com, the population has grown by 42.9 percent since 2000, and according to Trulia, prices for residential homes have increased along with the population. For the period of July 15 to October 15, the average price per square foot for Winter Park increased by 15.2 percent compared to the same period last year, and the median home price increased by 45.4 percent.

This growth has been good for our state, and it’s also been good for us as a company. In 2001, we established a presence in Winter Park and we have continued to employ staff in the area and serve clients ever since. However, earlier this summer, with construction on the rise, we decided to open an office to better serve our growing list of clients. We leased a space in the heart of downtown Winter Park in the Cooper Creek shopping center located at 63 Cooper Creek Way.

Our new space is home to a small team currently focused on a range of residential projects. We’re involved in new construction, additions, and remodels, including the restoration of an old boathouse on Grand Lake that will soon celebrate its 100th birthday. We’ve also had the opportunity to assist with the completion of the 16-mile Fraser to Granby trail when we helped build a bicycle bridge along the route.winter-park-pedestrian-bridge

Our Winter Park team strives to be a resource to both new and current homeowners. For those purchasing a home or vacant land, we can provide structural inspections and new construction structural design. For those who already own a home, we can provide engineering support for additions and renovations and help troubleshoot structural issues such as movement or settling.

We’ve also set a goal to be an active part of the local community. Members of our local team, Jared Veenstra and Mike Eberhard, have been involved with Grand County Search & Rescue, an all-volunteer provider of year-round mountain search and rescue services. We’re also a member of the Winter Park & Fraser Chamber .

Earlier in the month, we participated in the AIA Western Mountain Region 2015 Practice+Design Conference at the Keystone Resort and Conference Center, and we left the event feeling truly excited about the future of this beautiful region.
