nature's oasis grocery store with open timber beams and colorado mountain style architecture

the magic behind your masterpiece

Nature’s Oasis is a locally owned natural food store located near downtown Durango along the Animas River. This building has a total of 20,700 square feet and is constructed with steel bar joists and timber beams bearing on structural steel framing and masonry bearing walls. Clerestories are used throughout the architecture to bring natural light into the store. The large central clerestory is supported by custom engineered roof trusses with glue-laminated beams and steel rod members to create a stimulating and pleasing core retail space. Green building and energy efficiency were important aspects inherent with the building’s design. The building is extremely energy efficient and meets LEED standards maintaining the owner’s focus of environmental stewardship.
